A Chapter Ends, and Another Begins: Life and Whim’s New Website Has Launched!
We are thrilled to announce that Life and Whim’s new website and online shop are now live!
This journey began a little over six months ago, and we’ve had fun documenting many of the high and low moments along the way through our Traverse City Startup Series posts. There have been lots of struggles – in many ways this has been the hardest thing we’ve ever taken on as entrepreneurs. But there’s no doubt that it’s also been the most exhilarating and satisfying business challenge that we’ve tackled. And while we’ve taken a few moments to celebrate this milestone, we know we’re just getting started. The real hard work – and the fun! – is all on the horizon.
We’re really excited for you to check out the new site, and our product offerings, made especially for active individuals and families who love the great outdoors. Everything that we create is lovingly designed by us in Traverse City. A number of products, including our North Country Capes, Headscarves, and Fairy Trails Field Guide adventure and coloring book, are both designed and manufactured in Michigan. We try to inject heavy doses of creativity and craftsmanship into everything we do, and we believe these qualities are exemplified in our new collections. What we make is what we love.
Want to start at the beginning? Click here to visit the new homepage. While the homepage is the starting point, there’s a ton of new content to explore within the site. Interested in checking out the shop? Want to learn more about our creative process? Can’t get enough of Susie Q, our new mobile pop-up shop and bar? Interested in learning more about our charitable partner, Challenge Mountain? We hope you enjoy the new design, and all of the new features on the site!
We recognize that this is a big transition for Life and Whim, and we hope you are as excited about the changes as much as we are. While we’re beginning a new chapter, all of the things that have helped us to grow a community will remain the same. In fact, they’ll be getting bigger and better. We’ll still be producing content and sharing stories on a weekly basis, and we have big plans for lots of fun, creative and family-friendly events in the year to come. Life and Whim is changing, but in a way that will empower and enable us to provide significantly more value to our online and offline communities.
We’re not sure exactly where this journey will take us, but every step will be toward our “True North” of building a business set on a foundation of passion and purpose.
We Need Your Help!
We are extremely thankful for the time and attention that our valued readers have invested in Life and Whim over the last year. It’s been an amazing experience to develop relationships and friendships – both online and offline – with so many of you as we’ve built our blog and brand. In many ways it has been the most rewarding professional experience of our lives, and has been a real source of joy for our family as we’ve forged a new life in a new place. It’s hard to believe that we’re just coming up to the two-year anniversary of our move to Traverse City!
We have big plans for Life and Whim, and from fun events to contributions to the community, we can’t wait to build a brand that gives far more than it takes. But in order to do that, we need your help! While we’re based in Northern Michigan, we hope to spread our passion for the active, outdoor and creative lifestyle to individuals and families across the country.
We’re plunging into a crowded and noisy marketplace, and in order to build awareness for Life and Whim we need our community to help spread the word. We would be so grateful for your support in helping to introduce the Life and Whim brand to others!
Here are a few ways to help us have a successful launch:
1. If you haven’t done so already, subscribe to our website below, “Like” our Facebook page, and/or follow us on Instagram @LifeandWhim.
2. Tell your friends about Life and Whim by sharing our website on your Facebook page and by tagging @LifeandWhim on Instagram.
3. Come out and see us, and bring your friends and family, at the various events we’ll be hosting throughout the year. You can check out our summer schedule – which we’ll be adding to as details get finalized – here.
We greatly appreciate your support in helping us get the word out!
Join Us for Fairy Fest 2017
Without a doubt, the best part of launching our new business and brand is that we now have a more robust and active platform to do things we love, such as building the Fairy Trails in Traverse City.
We’d love to see you at our Fairy Fest event this weekend at The Village at Grand Traverse Commons from 2-4 p.m. We’ll be set up with our pop-up shop, Susie Q, and there will be live music, crafts for kids, and lots of awesome new fairy houses to explore and discover. Don’t miss the march back to the trails starting at 2:30 p.m. Click here for all of the details.
Thanks for joining us on our journey – we can’t wait for the adventures ahead!
