commissioned art

Heather brings her colorful, whimsical style to everything she paints. Her paintings incorporate the inspiration she finds in life living in northern Michigan. She focuses on landscapes, florals, and pet portraits in acrylic and mixed media on stretched canvas and cradled wood board.

about the commission process

Commissioning a custom work is very personal. I love to have a phone conversion before we begin so we can really feel like we are creating something together. Once size, color palette, and basic imagery are determined I will provide you with a quote.

Common Questions

  1. How long does it take to create a painting?

Commission pieces take varying amounts of time depending on size and if there are any other clients ahead of you. I will provide you with a time frame at the time of booking.

  2. How do I pay for the painting?

Once the price is decided you are required to pay a deposit of 50% of the final cost of the painting before I begin painting. Final payment is due upon delivery.

  3. Do you ship or deliver?

Yes, of course! There is an additional cost for shipping that is not included in the painting price.

Hand delivery or pick-up is also an option if you are in the Traverse City or Suttons Bay area.

  4. Will my painting need a frame?

Wooden board paintings don’t need to be framed they are ready to hang. I do offer modern white and maple frames for paintings on canvases.
